Are online cards free?

The new online card function from update #10: are they free (like tap&pay) or do they count towards the 3 cards included and hence costs money if you already have three physical cards?

Hi Edwin 👋

The first 5 online cards are free with your Premium or Business subscription. After your first 5, you will be charged an additional €9,99 for the next 5 online cards you have active. 💳

On top of this, you can create a maximum of 20 online cards per year. I hope that helps, enjoy spending online! 🌈

Nathan Mansell When I create a virtual card and delete it later does that still count or can I always create a new one as long as I do not create more than 5 at the same time? I already deleted one so do I still have 5 or only 4 now which I can create?

Nathan Mansell This completely defeats the purpose of having online cards. Why the maximum of 20? Especially since you are charging the customers. They barely cost anything to you. Seems unfair.

Jos You could use them with curve and have a free bunq account with a physical card. I think that is the reason.

Can you use your online card also for let’s say Apple App Store for app purchases and/or monthly payment for iCloud storage?

Do the new online cards work better than the standard Bunq MasterCard? Because the latter one is crap at most
foreign e-commerce sites and even hotels regularly refuse payments.
What is different, except it is only a number and not a physical card?

Axel Hotels often reject debit cards as they don’t offer guarantees whilst credit cards do
