• NFC chip werkt niet overal

Beste,

          Hi @Gerrit-Lime-Quokka#38183, @Maikel-Sheoratan#38459

Sorry to hear this is causing you issues! What type of card are you using (Maestro or Mastercard Debit)? Have you also tried with different bunq cards (if you have multiple of course!)

We use a standard chip, also used by other banks in the Netherlands, so it's a surprise to see you're running into these issues. It could be that the chip in your particular card is faulty, in which case you can request a replacement.

Feel free to contact support via Private Matters if you would like to explain your situation further and they will help you come to a resolution! 😊

@Neihana#38465 I’ve reported this a looooong time ago to support and even outlined that it had to do with a certain chip I’ve seen on the newer older cards (meaning the newer chips on the cards from your previous vendor). My card was already replaced by a new one and that didn’t solve the issue. I then gave up and started paying with my N26 ApplePay. Now I use bunq ApplePay so I really don’t have a clue wether the problem is still here and wether the new Gemalto cards solve it.

@Gerrit-Lime-Quokka#38183 What card do you have? What does the fine print on the back near the magnetic stripe say?

I have never had any problems, only when I have other NFC chips nearby. I heard that some sim cards have NFC chips which may mess with the readout of the one in your phone?

Edit: Sorry I thought this was about the phone. Same thing applies though, keep other NFC chips far away.

@Freek#38474 that goes without saying 😂

@Neihana#38465 I use the Maestro card. The strange thing is that 2 of 3 terminals deny my card, but only one accepts it.

Same here , just got new Maestro card and new Debit card and both cards have the same problem

@leonrotterdam#275334 To activate contactless payments, you have to insert the card into a payment terminal and enter your PIN code when using it for the first time. After that, contactless payments will be activated.

Issue opened on 2018 and is still present

Have done as stated above does not fix it
