Does anyone know if it is possible to re-activate an IBAN account that has been archived? The only options I see are: - Connect (displays a blank screen) - Export Statement I would really prefer to rename and use it again but if there are no options to use it any further, it would seem logical to me to have the option to permanently delete it. Or may this have to do that the tax authority demands the possibility for acces for 5 years....?ΒΏ
WP Hi π
After closing a monetary account you have 60 to reactivate it. Simply go to your accounts tab, scroll down and there will be an 'archived accounts' button. In the account and then settings you can reactivate the account. Sometimes it's necessary to clear the app from the multi tasking screen before you can see the reactivate button.
Tim Hi Tim,
Then it must have been more than 60 days, because there's no reactivate button. Which then still makes me wonder why I can not delete the account..... (quitting the app and starting it again, made no difference)
Support said deletion will happen after 60 days. I asked them to delete accounts but they only deactivated them and I need to wait these 60 days.
I read here also that this deletion won't happen although the 60 days period was over.
WP Just quitting and opening wouldn't be enough, it must actually be killed from the multitask screen. But that's just if you have closed the account in your last session. After 60 days the account can't be reactivated and the button will disappear. For multiple legal reasons it's still visible in your archive and of course data will be stored at bunq for the legally required period.
Tim Although I am fairly familiar with the use of iOS, I must admit that I have no idea what you mean by "multitask screen" π The legal reasons I expected indeed as well. Annoying but unchangeable I suppose. Thanx for the confirmation.

Double tap the home button and swipe up the app. Or swipe up on newer iOS devices till you see all open apps and swipe the app up again to clear the cache. βΊοΈ
Tim Hi Tim, that's what I meant by quitting the app and opening it again. Otherwise it would merely be hiding it and not quitting since it would still be active in the background. π
Tim Swipe and hold to get to the app list, otherwise it just backgrounds the app haha :)
LvH I can't even explain it properly. But it just goes naturally. ππ
Tim I know right! The gestures on the homebar are really well designed. And to think I was skeptic about getting a phone without home button and touchid at first... π¬
So, the deactivated accounts will stay longer than 60 days in the archived folder?
Heiko Hartwig Yes, permanently.
Tim Do you have more information about that? In the bunq TOS I only find a line saying theyβre not required to keep statements longer then the retention law. That could be a hint that data/accounts are deleted when the retention term has passed, probably the same 7 years as the tax retention law. But bunq is not yet old enough to know for sure.
F
Maybe you're right. My permanently suggest till infinity and beyond but I would of course mean the very very long period required by Dutch law. Either 7 or 10 years depending on what kind of data/administration. But we are not sure as bunq is still too young to have seen this before. π€π
