This is annoying me for more than a year but nobody at bunq seems to listen. So bunq is blocking Push notifications when you pay with Apple Pay on purpose and they thought that it is a good idea because Apple Wallet and probably Google Pay aswell (I´m only using Apple Pay) have their own push notification.
The thing is that there are multiple problems with the Apple Wallet Push which is why the bunq push BY FAR SUPERIOUR.
Apple Wallet Push Notifications are unreliable
I´ve noticed several times that push notifications arrive minutes or hours later. Sometimes they don´t arrive at all.
No Push for subscriptions
If you´re paying for a subscription by Apple Pay you will only get a push notification for the first transaction. After that no more push notifications, because bunq is SUPPRESSING THEM FOR APPLE PAY TRANSACTIONS.
Missing information
The Apple Wallet notification is missing data, which is the most annoying part. You won´t get exchange rates with Apple Wallet Push. While with the bunq push there would be the amount in the home currency aswell as the currency you´ve paid in, with Apple Wallet Push you only get the amount in the currency you´ve paid in.
You can´t look into the transaction
With bunq push you would be able to tap on the transaction notification, the bunq app would open and you could directly look further into the transaction. With Apple Wallet Push this is not possible.
I know that bunq is suppressing their push because otherwise you would get double notifications (one from bunq, one from wallet). But the thing is that you can actually deactivate Apple Wallet Push notifications on a per card basis. I´ve deactivated Wallet Push for all my other cards because they have a reliable working push service by themselves. Its only the bunq card for which I can´t disable them because then I wouldn´t get any notification at all.
PLEASE BUNQ FIX THIS. I WANT TO GET PUSH NOTIFICATIONS WHEN I PAY WITH APPLE PAY.
