• About that poll...

First off: I really like bunq. It's my main bank, got my girlfriend to join into a joint subscription and after that I got my parents to switch to bunq as well.

However, with today's changes I find it harder and harder to recommend bunq to others. I am personally affected by these changes, as my joint subscription has been terminated and changed to 2 times premium, with a 3 months grace period.

That's lovely, but article 40 of the terms and conditions state that "In some cases, we may want to terminate the agreement from our side. For example, in case we would stop offering bunq or your type of accounts in the future. We can terminate with two months’ notice." I don't have a legal degree, but announcing to discontinue the joint subscription and terminating it immediately is not 2 months notice.

Now back to the poll:

You guys set out a poll to ask users their opinion:

Therefore the question is simple, would you:

A) Keep everything as it is today, with all the complexities of for example Joint.
B) Favor planting trees with all your cards, and have a simple subscription model

In all topics I see bunq replying that an overwhelming 81% of the community chose option B: to go green and simplify the subscription model.

That seems fair. But how many people actually voted? How many people actually realized their subscription would be terminated within one week? Did people chose B because they wanted to plant trees or because they wanted to simplify all the subscription? Can you be transparent about this?

And last but not least, why is communication always such an issue? The replies you make in the other topics make it almost looks like you guys decided to do this at an after work drinks session and just see how it goes... Please announce stuff like this an forehand and try to think from the customers point of view when doing so, instead of your own.

I'm not asking to change to world or to end world hunger, but just try to put some effort in communication. A bank is essential and the people that use it need to feel they can trust the bank.

Don't worry, I won't leave bunq. I like the features too much, but please be more transparent.

Ps. Of course, great respect to the community moderators in facilitating all the discussions.

    @Bryan#153658 Well said Bryan 👍

Ik ben benieuwd naar de objectieve poll

@Henricus-Teal-Turtle#153670 How are these polls distributed? I'd be happy to vote

I also wasn't aware of any poll, neither am I happy with how the questions are stated if what I read here is true.
Losing joint feels like a gut punch to me, because my partner and I don't need the benefits of 2 premium accounts.

This joint account was a real USP and something I loved to recommend to other people because it makes live so easy together and gives us everything we need. Now it just feels like a dirty bait and switch to me.

From what I have seen over the years, they have a habit of changing subscription models and account memberships without giving their customers proper notice. The danger for Bunq is that they are quickly pricing themselves out of an already competitive market. The whole company could implode as a result of a mass walkout of customers. I admire their innovation and really like the quality of services they offer but their business decisions have been woeful.

We made a voluntary poll for anyone who wanted to participate prior to making any decisions. The response was so overwhelming that we jumped in and took immediate action to get SuperGreen to you even quicker!

@bunq#153943 The responses are so overwhelming now that hopefully you will take immediate action to undo it again! :)

@bunq#153943 So how many people participated? Why not be open about this?

@bunq#153943 Well that might have been a wrong poll then... because now people are pissed...

@bunq#153943 Can you show us the data of the poll? In my opinion, the questions are too suggestive and from a scientific standpoint cannot be used to justify such an enormous change in the products you offer. Nobody completing this poll could have known the implications of their answers, because the question is not clear.

@bunq#153943 I think it's very cool of you guys (the Bunq communication team) to only refer to a poll that only a hand-full of people here saw, or participated in. Of course everybody would vote for, sure plant more trees. But would they vote for the same option if Bunq added a 60% price hike? I think I can guess the outcome ;)

@bunq#153943 And where did you communicate this poll? And what were the questions? And since you guys say you’re all about transparancy: can you share the data with us?

I happened to see the poll, but comments were blocked on it so the thread disappeared down the list very quickly. I too would like to know how many responses there were.

                              bunq locked the discussion.
