• Exploring the amazing bunq V3? Let us know how we can make it even better! (2)

Bugs that I found in my Android app

  • The pictures for the accounts are not visible. When I personalize an account it still shows the picture from before V3. When I then approve that picture, the account colour goes to black but the picture can only be seen in the events.
  • When I tap on the IBAN in an account and then tap "Share", nothing happens.

My feedback:

  • I know it has been fixed now, but I'm really mad about not being able to access my joint accounts. Not being able to access your bank account is a huge no-no. I pay for this service and I trust you with my money. You are literally taking away access to my money. Sure, I can pay with my card that is linked to the account but I cannot see how much money I have or transfer money. It's unacceptable to say "Oops that's a bug in the new app, we'll resolve it asap" when access to my money is the thing I pay you for. I cannot imagine that this bug was not apparent in the beta or even during in-house testing?
  • I don't care how much money, CO2 or time I saved by using this app. I care about how much money I have on my accounts -> get rid of the circles in the "Me" tab, at least make them optional. (And count how many people keep it enabled?)
  • I dislike the black dark mode. It's difficult to read stuff at daylight. In the "Me" tab, it's difficult to see the button of "Total" and "Cards". When you set a picture for an account, you cannot even see the button for that account because it turned black. I enjoyed the grey dark mode from before. Please make that an option again, as well as the light mode.
  • The name of the accounts is difficult to read because it's coloured. -> Just make the name of the account white against the coloured background (like you did with the balance).
  • It took me a long time to find out that the events are in the "Total" section, a heads up for that would be nice.
  • I understand that you try to keep this three circle theme throughout the entire app, but it doesn't make sense, because it hides stuff behind another tap. It definitely doesn't make things easier. When I go to my EC card, I have to tap a circle to get to the linked accounts instead of just showing them already. The map is shown but the accounts not? I certainly need to change accounts more often than checking out where I can use my card. The accounts could even be shown in the "Cards" screen already. Same thing goes for each account screen: Just show me which card is linked instead of hiding it behind a circle with a template card inside. In many cases these circles just don't show any useful information. (Who needs a profile completion circle?)
  • I think the three circles at the top (especially when looking at an account) just don't look good, and make the app look "cheap". Instead of looking "designed", it simply looks like what it is: three circles with some stuff inside. I don't understand what the logo in the balance prediction circle is supposed to be and it's not even looking good. The card in the right circle is also too small to even see it properly.
  • I don't care at all for the "Us" tab. That stuff can be hidden in some settings etc but I don't need to accidentally tap that button and spend my mobile data on instagram posts.
  • The + button just doesn't make sense. It's a plus, which normally lets you add stuff. However, it often acts like an extra menu button?
  • It does not seem like there was an experienced UI-designer involved. Like somebody said, it seems that the marketing team had a big say in V3.

Btw the online cards are also not showing in the Apple Watch app now. Would be nice to get an updated version there.

        Roadmap:

        • Rollback this childish app to V2
        • Fire your UX/UI designers
        • Don't tell your paying users to "just get used to it". Which basically is a big "fuck you".
        • Start issuing better quality cards
        • Give users the option to choose between card designs/colors. Especially useful for Business cards
        • More functionality in the WebApp
        • Then maybe start thinking about a new app without all this tree, Instagram and time saved nonsense. Be a damn bank, not a climate NGO.

          Without judging, but purely observing;

I often read that bunq finds that a large amount of the negative feedback is only sent by a small select group of the same people. I don’t necessarily disagree with this, as it’s pretty common that people only speak up when something is wrong.

However, I hope bunq does realize that this situation is larger than that. People from the ‘silent minority’ are here, are speaking up, and it even reflects in bunqs app rating in the App Store.

In my previous comment I have actually stayed positive about V3, so please don’t see this as criticism. I just hope this is a bit of an eye opener.

            Daarnaast een aantal punten;
            - Homescreen is enorm lelijk, druk en onoverzichtelijk.
            - Waar zijn mijn rekening icons gebleven?
            - De naam van de rekening wordt lelijk afgekapt
            - Savingsgoals rekeningen zijn niet meer te onderscheiden van gewone rekeningen.
            - Wat een lelijk plus knop, ding zit constant in de weg, lelijk plat plaatje ook.

            - Weg met die US pagina, totaal niet relevant, ik heb geen greencard of green plan.

Is there going to be an option to switch back to the old design? I am way to autistic for such a big change.

@tintinhamans#173851 Right, I am on iOS, so it looks like there's a difference. I have a ... where you have a looking glass. You might raise this with support in a week when they've fixed all the high priority issues and have had a bit of sleep 😂

I have just moved to Bunq, cancelled my other bank account, but I'm seriously considering moving back. I'm definitely not going to use this as my main bank account for at least a few months. The fact that Bunq is fast in adapting changes can be good, but there can be too much of a good thing. And this is it.

Normally I wouldn't write something, because most of it, is already discussed. But since the founder said that "they know very well what their customers want" after delivering this app and seeing all the backlash feels weird. It's like he's saying "I hear what you're saying, but we were still right. We know what you want, better than you!", which seem pretty arrogant if you ask me.

To start off: My accounts should be front and center, not how many money, trees or time I have saved. This is just "borstklopperij" for people. This is marketing, not user interace. I don't want to know how much time I have saved using this app. Nobody ever asked for this, and I don't see how this would ever be relevant using this app.

Then: The + button. From a UI perspective, I don't see how a button in all colors works very well in UI, but if I leave it at that, it's too big and awkwardly positioned. How many time would I want to add a new bank account or something.
When you open this up, you are completely lost. I see a screen and I have to read for (and i timed this) nearly 20 seconds(!!) before I have read everything. This is not a UI! These are marketing Taglines. I want to know in 1 or 2 words where I want to click on.

Also: the plus button stays in the same location, and the same color, which makes it feel like it'll always function the same way. But it has a different interaction in every tab you're in... If it would be on the right top, that's UI which we have gotten used to, right?

The US tab should be optional. I know you guys are trying to do good. But it's just annoying being confronted with it constantly. It also feels like you guys are trying to push people to take this Super Green constantly and it's very annoying. We're all paying customers here, and it feels like there's a constant in-app advertisement here.

The profile tab: Yeah sure, but why is this top bar always showing me that I have completed my profile. this is only relevant for the first 24 hours you create a bunq account? and then it 'll just sit there idle till when you'll delete your bank account (which seems like a more real scenario every hour i'm using this app). These trophies are a waste of valueble UI space.
And why do i have to click AGAIN to see the settings. These are the things I expect when I click on "profile".

Then: The camera... why? I can imagine some people use this a lot. But can't we make this optional. I would never use this tab.

So before I had everything neatly distributed over several tabs, where now I have 2/3 tabs that's just there for nothing.

I know you guys are doing the best you can. But I would give a lot to go back to V2. A friend of mine is a BETA user, he has sent in a lot of this feedback a few times, and never heard back from you. So maybe you guys should first actually listen to the feedback from BETA users and fix those issues they have with it, instead of launching it anyway "because we know very well what our customers like" (-Ali Nikham). I'm sorry, but apparently you don't, and the fact that you keep denying that is not a very nice thing to do to your customers. Your pretending to know better than them.

I understand what Bunq tried to do. Once again rethink the whole banking experience and come up with a new application that's unlike any other banking experience.

This time however, I feel like they lost focus and are now pushing different things that have absolutely nothing to do with banking.

I think the app has to get back to V2 and not make a drastic change like this, because it's nog working for 99% of the users.

I hope this will get fixed. :)

It doesn't seem logic that I, with a premium supergreen account can save time by changing the trade name and adding directors or employees. I never had a business account and never will have with bunq, so don't show that information please.
I can see this V3 design working, but couldn't you have waited until this version was actually finished? It doesn't look done yet...

Also, are you going to release a new version which focusses on banking?

@Tristan-Grey-Tiger#173047 I agree on this, focus on primary features! Not these shitty hipster numbers and menu’s nobody uses.

I’m an early bunq fan but this is just a shitty move.
I care about trees but not in my banking app and also the ‘us’ menu is useless. Not to speak about the + button.....

                        Please fix this soon!

                            @BastiaanB#173908 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Wat een teleurstelling de update. Deprimerende achtergrond.

Impossible to be constructive. The new version is horrible!!! Please tell me how to revert to previous version.

                                  @Mick-Orange-Cheetah#173497 Well said.

I hate how hidden some features that I use a lot are now. The idea of one button for everything is cool but it makes it hard to find stuff. Especially since everything is worded like a marketing slogan instead of just saying what it does (stuff like "save time by opening a personal account" instead of just "open account")

Jammer.
