• Invalid card number

Every time when I put my cardnumber in it says : Unvalid card number.
How is this even possible when my card is active and on the app it seems like nothing is wrong.
how to fix this?

    @New-Turquoise-Zebra-2866189952#190509 Could you describe your problem a little bit more detailed? What are you trying to accomplish where?

    Are you attempting to order or pay for something online? Are you sure you're getting your credit card number, valid until date as well as security code correct? And when you try to pay, are you getting any event in the "Total" overview in the app? If there's no event in the app, then the payment attempt hasn't reached bunq and the online shop you're trying to make a payment at is just blocking your card outright. If you see a failed payment event in the bunq app, when you tap it, it will tell your more details about what might've been wrong with your payment attempt.

        @New-Turquoise-Zebra-2866189952#190517 Just making sure: You are trying to use a Mastercard Credit (i.e. a Travel Card or Metal card) or another type of card? Some merchants only accept payments made with a credit card, and not with debit cards. As bunq offers both credit and debit, maybe you could try with a credit card if you're trying to use a debit card right now.

        Otherwise the only thing you can really do when a card does not work and no event is shown in the bunq app is to contact the merchant for more information. Some merchants decline certain types of cards or block certain BINs.

          @Jakob-Y#190519 Before i used bunq I used a N26 Debit card so i don't think this is the case. Also when I try to open another card it says : Unable to change monetary account status/sub-status from ''ACTIVE''/''NONE to ''PENDING_REOPEN''/''NONE''.

            That's strange indeed. Haven't seen this error here on Together, so probably a good idea to contact Support about this so they can look into your account.

              I have this exact problem when trying to update my new Bunq card for my Apple subscriptions. Just keeps saying ‘Ungültige Nummer’. The card is activated and I don’t understand. My old N26 card worked 🤷‍♂️. Did you ever fix this problem?

                @New-Mauve-Raccoon-2681847118#253354 Does your bunq country correspond to the country of the Apple ID? For example cards starting with 51158003 for example are German cards and only work with a German Apple ID, cards with 51158002 are Dutch cards and only work with Dutch Apple IDs etc. -- bunq will give you a fitting card number for your country for best compatibility. Unfortunately it's an Apple restriction that they only accept cards from a single country.

                If that's not the issue for you, then not sure why this is happening. It works fine with my own Apple ID.

                  I’m having the exact same problem putting my card number on AirBnB to make a payment. It is really a problem. Also on PayPal, and you guys from Bunq Support are just dancing around the problem. Do the card numbers have a problem or what?

                    @New-Pink-Dromedary-3173028944#273003 Try to also contact Airbnb and Paypal in your case. I'm a regular user of both and for 3 years have used exclusively bunq cards with them, never had an issue.

                        @New-Pink-Dromedary-3173028944#273003 Same issue for me with basically every online merchant: airbnb, HBO, Amazon, etc. iDEAL works fine, but if I have to make a card payment, it's always declined. Card details are pasted directly from bunq.

                        I've had on average one issue per month since opening my bunq account—all of them unresolved, including missed & incorrect interest payments. This is by a wide margin the most inept financial institution I've ever had the displeasure of using. They're honestly not prepared to be a business. I've already started comparing new banks.

It is possible that you are not able to complete some payments with this card because it is not accepted by certain merchants. If you like, you can order another card, like a Mastercard debit card or bunq credit card, for a small fee, or upgrade your plan and enjoy additional free physical AND DigiCards with your subscription.
