  • Problem linking bunq to PayPal

I’m having problem linking my bunq account to PayPal. It always says ‘not able to complete’(app) or ‘can’t link this account at this moment’(pc).

My PayPal account is in the Netherlands. I chose Netherlands when trying to link the account. I have another euro account from the UK linked to my PayPal without problem. But with the bunq account, I can’t even get into the confirmation phase.

PayPal is always confusing and their service is shitty. I trust bunq more than them. I would always assume the problem is on their side. No joke.

But maybe the bunq people can suggest common issues preventing the link? Thanks in advance.

          Did you already reach out to PayPal support?

                @Bastiaan#205305 Link my IBAN. I can link MasterCard without problem. But wanted to transfer PayPal money to my bunq account.

                  I still think they are the only ones to be able to help you as it's their end of the service that doesn't work sufficiently. Your bunq IBAN is a full SEPA bank account and should therefore be accepted. Of course there could be several reasons why this doesn't work at PayPal due to due diligence, bugs, unverified account or whatever reason.

                    @Tim#205325 I get that. I tried to reach out to them. Their support team are one of the worst. I’ve always had weird problems with PayPal. I’d assume it’s a problem on their side.
                    I just wonder if anyone here had the same problem, or could suggest common reasons for failure to link to PayPal. Thanks.

                      I remember from previous reports that the outcome may vary by trying it through a different channel such as app vs mobile browser vs desktop browser. It's also important as you mentioned to select The Netherlands as the bunq IBAN starts with NL. I hope you can get it to work.

                        @xiaoming#205246 did you solve your problem? Cuz now I have the same problem with PayPal-bunq. But my card is maestro ( not Mastercard) and there are no any options to my card

                            je moet paypall even bellen. paypall ziet bunq als risico ivb fraude. even bellen en zij zetten handmatig deze beveiliging voor je uit. heb ik ook gedaan begin dit jaar.
