How can I obtain a German IBAN

Manisha Das ist falsch. Ich habe über 1 Jahr mein Gehalt eines Deutschen Arbeitgebers über eine NL IBAN erhalten. Funktioniert alles normal. Wenn sie keine DE IBAN erstellen können wenden sie sich einfach an den Support 🙂🙋

Manisha That’s IBAN discrimination and forbidden by European law. You can simply give all institutions a hint to this fact, if they don’t accept your NL IBAN. People used bunq for years with NL IBANs in Germany until bunq introduced de IBANs, just like Jakob told you he did.

Nonetheless, if you having problems creating DE IBAN as a German resident you should contact bunq Support in the app by following these steps:

Go to Profile
Tap on Settings ⚙️in the right corner on top
Scroll to the bottom, tap on Need help? Get Support, then choose Personal Support

As an alternative, you can also send an email to support@bunq.com from the email address you’re registered at bunq 🌈

Manisha The point is that it makes no sense to only accept German IBANs. All IBANs work exactly the same, and by law all IBANs should be accepted. If companies don't do this, it's called IBAN discrimination: https://www.dnb.nl/en/payments/electronic-payments/sepa-and-iban-discrimination/

Markus Habe ausversehend die Iban benutzt die bunq beim abbuchen von mein Konto benutzt. Habe dahin 400,00 Euro überwiesen bis ich bemerkt habe das ich eine andere Iban habe.Jetzt weiß ich nicht ob das Geld auf mein bunq Konto ankommt. Kennen Sie sich da aus?

Ralf Wilhelm Also habe von meiner Sparkasse aus die Iban benutzt wo bunq benutzt wenn sie von der Sparkasse abgebucht. Habe Geld von meiner Sparkasse auf mein bunq Konto überwiesen. Und bunq benutzt eine andere Iban wenn sie von der Sparkasse abgebucht

Ralf Wilhelm Hallo Ralf, wenn du Geld an eine interne IBAN überweist, das nicht zugeordnet werden kann, dann kommt es automatisch wieder zurück. Das kann natürlich ein paar Werktage dauern, weil das Geld erst bei bunq ankommen muss und dann wieder zurückgeschickt wird. Wenn du nach einer Woche das Geld nicht wiedererhalten hast, wende dich am besten an den Support. Sollte aber normalerweise nicht nötig sein, das kommt öfters mal vor und bisher hat immer noch jeder das Geld wieder zurückbekommen.

Vielen Dank für deine Info.
Mache grade Urlaub auf Zypern und das ist die einzige Kreditkarte die ich besitze were schlecht wenn bunq solange braucht.

Ralf Wilhelm Die Überweisungslaufzeiten des Interbanken-Systems kann bunq leider auch nicht beschleunigen. Die Rücküberweisung wird automatisiert und sofort veranlasst, das Geld ist bei bunq also nur wenige Sekunden. Trotzdem bedeuten zwei Überweisungen in der Regel eine Wartezeit von 2-3 Werktagen.

Jakob Ja da bin ich selbst schuld.
Kommt davon wenn man schnell machen will. Und nicht nach seiner Iban schaut sondern als Vorlage die Iban benutzt habe wo bunq mir von bankkonto abgebucht haben.

Chris Wenn du in Deutschland wohnst, dann kannst du den Support kontaktieren. Der kann dein Konto auf deutsche IBANs umstellen und alle neuen Unterkonten erhalten ab dann automatisch eine DE-IBAN.

Falls du nicht in Deutschland wohnst, dann kannst du dir trotzdem DE-IBANs erstellen. Dafür gibt es das Feature Lokale IBANs. Folge einfach der Anleitung dort und in wenigen Schritten kannst du dir so ein Unterkonto mit DE-IBAN erstellen.

Deine bestehenden Unterkonten bleiben natürlich erhalten und behalten auch ihre gewohnte Bankverbindung. Du kannst also bestehende Lastschriften umziehen, musst das aber nicht machen.

There are entities in Germany who do NOT accept other than DE IBAN, respective when it's another IBAN and not DE IBAN, then it is a hassle. Whether this makes sense or not isn't relevant, tell this to my power provider :) The Question by the OP was how to get a DE IBAN.

(I also opened an account and it has Dutch Iban, I did request DE IBAN from support. The assumption that one with "Easy Bank" gets the IBAN corresponding to their residence was actually a main criteria for me to get bunq.)

After looking into this for you, I noticed that you've already requested a German IBAN for your account. Acquiring a Local IBAN indeed requires you're using the Easy Money or Easy Green plan. As you mentioned, living in Germany, you're entitled to a German IBAN. Your request will be handled as soon as possible. My main account also has a Dutch IBAN, although I'm not sure where I went wrong during the account creation process? Additionally, I'm unable to locate a "real" profile page to review all my information, leaving me uncertain about the source of the mistake. Already having trust issues. lol I now created a sub account as a workaround.

Christopher You can indeed create a DE sub-account yourself and delete the NL one.
