  • [SUGGESTION] Possibility to opt out of Finn

@kearfy#286610

kan me hier wel in vinden

    @beekie#286630 Why? If this is developed further, I think it would be very useful.

      @thijsoost#286632

      snap de toegevegde waarde niet zo thijs. wat is er mis met het ' oude zoeken "

        I think the AI can become very useful and I fully expect it to be run in their own environment.

          @beekie#286633 This gives many more possibilities! This way you can search much more precisely. The "old search" can also be done on a sub-account page, or by searching on the Total page/widget.

            @beekie#286633 Hey Marcel! Thank you for your question 🌈 Unlike the typical search bar, Finn provides you with answers for your questions both on your spendings insights, as well as your day-to-day support questions. We strongly encourage you to give it a try, it might surprise you πŸš€

              What if I want to search for a hidden sub account? I have some that are fully automated with Flow, and so I don't touch them which is why I have hidden them. Currently, I would need to ask the AI to "list my hidden sub accounts", to which it will answer with both hidden and not hidden bank accounts. Very frustrating!

              I fundamentally think that search and generative AI are two different things, and I would like to still be able to use the old search. Maybe have a search bar with an "ask finn" button besides it!

              Yes @thijsoost#286640, I'm sure it opens up a world of possibilities, and I don't think Finn should go. In fact, I think it's a really cool feature! But it's different:

              • If I want to search something fast, I want to use a traditional search, powered by traditional indexing. I know what I'm looking for.
              • If I want to get creative or get help to manage my finances, than a personal AI assistant is perfect for that!
                All above all - it's still a beta!

              @alice-lime-puma#286614 I read the page you linked, and I surely trust that Bunq does it's best to protect my privacy and data. I would still like an answer to which model is being used however 😁

              (By the way, when I tag somebody I get a lot of popups saying that I'm not allowed to do that. I get that it's annoying to get pinged all day but maybe it should be allowed when somebody already joined the convo :D)

                Thank you for your suggestion, Micha! We'll see what other users think about the depreciation of the search bar and we will redirect the suggestion to our product team πŸ™

                  I agree.
                  finn has been suggesting phantom options that don’t exist, and even suggested closing my account when I asked how to disable finn.
                  I dont want AI in my banking, and certainly not a beta.

                    While I'm also of the opinion that the sudden need to add AI to everything is a bit of a hype, my biggest gripe is that the Finn-search widget is non-removable.

                    One of my favourite things about the Bunq app has always been the customizability, and my home screen is (or was) a carefully curated set of accounts and widgets that perfectly fill the screen.

                    And now that whole screen is shifted downwards and off-screen to make room for a search widget I will rarely, if ever, use. Even basic search is a feature that gets used once, maybe twice a year, and not because its features were limited by the lack of AI, but simply because I keep my stuff organized enough that I can find it without search.

                    So my request: Make Finn a widget, so people can (re)move it, or place it inside a folder, etc. The widget functionality is there, so why not use it.

                      I find Finn's idea basically cool and innovative. But it also bothers me that Finn has replaced the normal search. I also think it would be better if Finn were an extra icon or widget or something. From a UX point of view, I find it irritating that a search field opens a bot. When I click in a search field, I do not expect a dialogue with a bot, but a normal search.

                      What really bothers me about Finn at the moment is how slow the bot is. The normal search was worlds faster. I could probably live with Finn as a replacement for the search, but Finn then has to become much faster. I am aware that this is a beta. Hence the feedback. One of the biggest priorities should be to drastically improve the speed of the bot.

                        It is very frustrating that instead of search I now need to interact with a chatbot that is slow and hallucinates. I ask it how I can search for a transaction and it tells me to go to a non-existent "Events" tab and search from there. I ask it how to disable Finn and it tells me to simply go to Settings and then "Support"... Which not only is incomplete instructions but there is no "Support" option in the settings page 🀦

                          @Khaoz-Topsy#286904 Looks like Finn is still very much in beta. Which is fine, in my opinion. But as long as Finn isn't working as it should, give users the option to disable it and use the "old" search instead.

                          By the way, if you add and open the Total widget, you can still use the old search (which I'll be using).

                            @thijsoost#286907 Thank you for the suggest πŸ™Œ

                              @thijsoost#286907 Yes, you can search for transactions there, but for example not hidden bank accounts. This is a very annoying limitation πŸ˜…

                                @Itsacon#286879 Making Finn a Widget sounds like a genius plan! And if Bunq wants to push it, they can add it by default. +1 for this

                                  4 days later

                                  Why - the hell - is my most used function - a quick search for transactions in ALL accounts - not longer possible. Instant useless app. Thinking about quitting because the "it just works" is gone now for bunq if they test obvious stupidly beta stuff in public. Why the hell??? Experimenting with everyday used functions. Not cool!

                                    @New-Maroon-Camel-3305434670#287105 If you add and open the Total widget, you can still use the old search

                                      @thijsoost#287107 From what a user told me the issue with it is that it does not show the hidden account content.
