You can now get an overview of all your finances by adding bank accounts from external banks to your bunq app 🚀
If you have an account with another bank and wish to include it in your bunq app, you can do so effortlessly. Just follow the steps below to add your external bank accounts with just a few taps.
How do I add an external bank account?
- Go to the Budgeting tab
- Tap on Add External Bank Account
- Choose your bank
- Done ✅
Who can add external bank accounts?
Adding external bank accounts is currently available for our Dutch, German and French users with active Personal accounts. We’ll keep you updated as we’re adding more countries! More details on the Dutch, German and French banks available for the matter can be found here.
Which banks can I add bank accounts from?
Together with Open Banking we give you the opportunity to quickly add external bank accounts to your bunq account. This service is currently available with certain banks in Germany and France. If you’re a Dutch resident, you can use this feature with all Dutch banks. bunq is actively working to expand this service to more banks in these countries and others.

What’s the timeframe of transactions I can see?
The timeframe of transactions you can view depends on the bank you are connected with. Different banks may have different policies or technical capabilities that determine how far back in time you can view your transaction history.
How will this help my expense tracking?
Integrating your external bank accounts with your bunq Personal account allows you to keep track of all your expenses under the Budgeting tab. This not only simplifies your financial management but also provides a comprehensive view of your balances, even if they are spread across different banks.
How to link an external bank account to the Budgeting tab?
- Go to the Budgeting tab
- Tap on “Add External Bank Accounts”
- Choose your bank and follow the flow
- Done ✅
