Hey bunqers 🌈
Since August 30, 2024, we no longer offer Maestro Cards but Mastercard Debit Cards instead. These cards have wider acceptance worldwide, and they’re also suited for online payments.
In this topic we’ve listed the changes that will happen in the upcoming months.
What’s a Mastercard Debit card?
Mastercard Debit cards will work as a regular Debit card - you’ll be able to pay with Mastercard Debit everywhere you go, the same way you were with Maestro. One difference is that your bunq Mastercard Debit card is accepted worldwide 🎉
What’s the difference between Maestro Debit and Mastercard Debit?
The only differences are:
- The name of the manufacturer (Mastercard Debit instead of Maestro Debit)
- The wider range of merchants accepting your card (Now you’ll be able to use your Mastercard Debit card at more places than before, mostly internationally)
- Mastercard Debit allows for online payments
I have a bunq Maestro Debit card, what does that mean for me?
