• Metal Card arrived damaged

When I unpacked my Metal Card there was a crack on the narrow part of the card right next to the chip. Seems to be a production-error that's either systemic or slipped through the Q&A. Are others having the same issue with their card.

The support (aka Finn) told me to use up my one free card-replacement per year in order to get this fixed...

@Hannes-H93#297060 If Finn didn't answer your question, you can tap a button in the Support Center to contact a human bunq employee.

It only has the "Tell us more" and "Close Chat" buttons - and I already told Finn that using my one free replacement is certainly not what I intend to do.

How does something like this even get through QA? For 100€ I'd expect that they have at least an automated scan if the print and manufacturing worked as intended...

@Hannes-H93#297064 I believe it's the "Tell us more" button, or maybe your message was already sent to a human bunq employee (and you'll have to wait for a response)

Maybe the damage was caused during shipping?

Just got a reply that it's apparently the intended design for the card and necessary for contactless to work...
Wtf? I've had metal cards from multiple banks over the years and not a single one had something like this and worked fine.

I really hope it's just a misguided support worker and other people here will find their cards looking normal - if that's really their idea of a premium-looking card then I'm severely disappointed

Got another Support worker to confirm that it's the intended look.
I understand that there needs to be a kind of wiring for NFC to work, but this really looks like someone cut out a part and glued it back on afterwards, destroying the smooth looking surface in the process, especially if you hold it against the light.

Hey @Hannes-H93#297082 👋 Thank you for participating in our community and voicing your feedback!

The new Metal Card is fully stainless steel and use a different technology for contactless payments, which is why there’s a small plastic slit next to the chip. This is to ensure that it works on both sides, and won’t affect your experience with the Metal Credit Card. You can find out more about it here: https://together.bunq.com/d/23424 📚

However, this does not mean your concerns are dismissed. We're committed to listening to the voice of our users, and we'll utilize your feedback to improve our services in the future 🚀

This is broken! I have received two Mastercard debits from bunq both had scratches on them as if they were used. support keeps telling me to just order a new one and get a refund. Not very sustainable. Who buys a metal card for 100 EUR lol. *Broken metal card for 100 EUR :)

The antenna is not very good looking to be honest. Comparing this card with the white one for founders I am not that much satisfied with a card for 100€. Card should be done in better quality.

I have a lot of metal cards and this one from Bunq is the worst one.

@Heiko-Hartwig#297104 I agree - they could've hidden it with making the card 2-colored, or etching a horizontal line into it. Since everything is the same color and that one of the appeals of brushed metal is that it reflects the light in a satisfying way this is more annoying to look at than I had anticipated.
