I’ve already seen a topic on this (https://together.bunq.com/d/3839-apple-pay-notifications-from-bunq-app), but it appears to have been locked and I cannot reply there, so I wanted to bump this issue back up into the conversation.
As already mentioned in the other thread, Wallet notifications have some downsides compared to bunq app notifications. Specifically:
- the notification doesn’t confirm which account the transaction was from
- I can’t tap on the notification to go directly to the transaction view where I can add notes or a quick picture of a receipt.
This last one is the main reason why I want bunq app notifications for Apple Pay transactions. Often in the supermarket or other shop where I make a purchase and have no need to keep the original receipt, I just want to take a quick snap of the receipt so I can see later what I spent money on and how much individual items cost etc. With bunq app notifications this is literally done in a few simple taps.
With an Apple Pay transaction I have to open my phone and manually open the bunq app, goto events, then tap on the transaction in question, before I can hit the button to add a picture to the transaction. Not a very nice experience.
I agree that I wouldn’t want to get double notifications, and that perhaps some people prefer wallet notifications for whatever reason. Perhaps the default should be as it is now (wallet notifications, and bunq app notifications for Apple Pay transactions disabled by default).
But please give us an option to enable push notifications from bunq for Apple Pay transactions. I can then disable wallet notifications if I want (the bunq app could even pop up a little notice just after flipping the switch on Apple Pay notifications to advise people to turn off notifications in the wallet app if they don’t want to get double notifications).
Thanks for the consideration 🙏🏻
