While the cards that we offer are widely accepted worldwide, there are certain differences between each type. In order to make it easier for you we are going to present the main differences below.
Maestro cards are most common for use in Europe, rather than worldwide. If you live in the Netherlands 🇳🇱or Belgium 🇧🇪, you'll need a Maestro card for most of your store purchases as it is accepted country-wide at all Dutch and Belgian terminals. Learn more about Maestro here.
A great choice for international travel. 🌎This debit card is accepted worldwide and has a rotating CVC to use for online payments. However, it is not always accepted for car rentals, hotels, etc. Learn more about Mastercard here.

To see if a store accepts your Maestro or Mastercard, look out for the logo on your card to identify what you should use.
These are cards that you can order and use with your bunq app. They are great for website purchases and you can simply set up one with few taps.📱 In this time it is especially important to keep your online shopping experience safe. Note: At this moment we don't support direct transactions to our cards yet (only refunds for previous transactions). This means that all transactions sent to the card won't be accepted. We recommend you to contact the sender and ask them to transfer the amount to your IBAN instead. You will be able to receive the money that way, without any issue! 👌
