• It takes courage to admit a mistake...

... but you guys did it anyway.

When I came home from work today and opened my mailbox, to my surprise I found a package in rainbow colours. Mail from Bunq? And not in letter form? My confused look in my phone confirmed: No, it's not Christmas yet. My curiosity was sparked.

It felt kind of heavy. A t-shirt maybe? Another amazing Christmas present? Who knows?...

Upon opening the package, two items fell into my hands: A bar of chocolate and a postcard.

Full of curiosity I read the card:

Indeed, a post of mine was never published. I didn't think much of it. But to admit a mistake and make it right without much of a complaint of mine, that takes greatness. I'm absolutely certain that I could've never expected something like this from one of the "big banks".

Thank you very much bunq & all the team! ❤

You guys can be assured that I will enjoy the chocolate greatly (although it's almost a shame to break such a beautiful, colourful packaging ;) )

Best wishes from the north of the Netherlands,

Calvin (a happy customer) 🌈

P.S.: I've never tried "Belgian milk chocolate with caramel and sea salt". There's always a first 😬

What an unbelievable cool, fine, amazing, good, holymoly, awesome bank we all have. You guys are the best!!

      Hey Calvin,

Thanks for the amazing compliments! I just showed your topic to as many people here in the bunq'r as I could find! We love it 😍

Cool story... but I feel a bit sorry for the postmen who did the delivery. I think he felt very jealous :(.....

Bunq definitely won the colourful envelope competition.

            a month later

That's amazing! I look forward having something bunq should apologise with me for... just to have the chance to get that amazing envelope! 😄

              Hey Simone,

We really dislike making mistakes that bother you, but we really like to help you no matter what (and your remark basically tells us to make a mistake)!

Once we solve this existential crisis, we'll see what option we take 🤔

She likes you envelop Koen. So, you could send her just an empty envelope. :)

                  Okay! Existential crisis is solved!

My proposal: We don't make any mistakes but do send you a gift, Simone. What do you think? 😄

                    Thanks, John Do and Koen!

Koen... what could I say? I'm a brand new bunqer and, due to my job, I work with several banks in 5 different countries in Europe and... even for me, it's not difficult to understand how unique bunq is, and not just because I think that your offer is something more than a cool way to reply to my comment! (But don't think that I wouldn't like to receive your gift, by the way!)

I'll do my best to present bunq to my friends, customers and colleagues. And as soon as you make bunq available for UK-based companies, I'll immediately close our current accounts. I'm using 'immediately' in a kind of literal way.

I've uploaded a profile pic. Just to avoid uncertainties on my sex - understandably John Do supposes I am a woman ("She likes...") but in Italy, where I was born, 'Simone' is a male name! ;)

                      Hey there!

You're very welcome! We always love to see people enjoying what we make. Thanks for the positivity 🌈

                      Stay awesome 😄

                        9 days later

                        Hi Koen,

A few moments ago I came back home and I found a rainbow envelope in my postbox. I was sure it was one of my new cards but...

What could I say? There are at least two ways to manage the customer relationship -- the first one is doing what is enough to make working things through; the second one is to exceed the customers' expectations and make they feel 'at home.'

I'm so happy and proud of being one of the customers of a company that follows the second approach.

                        Many many thanks
