        • ... but you guys did it anyway.

When I came home from work today and opened my mailbox, to my surprise I found a package in rainbow colours. Mail from Bunq? And not in letter form? My confused look in my phone confirmed: No, it's not Christmas yet. My curiosity was sparked.

It felt kind of heavy. A t-shirt maybe? Another amazing Christmas present? Who knows?...

Upon opening the package, two items fell into my hands: A bar of chocolate and a postcard.

Full of curiosity I read the card:

Indeed, a post of mine was never published. I didn't think much of it. But to admit a mistake and make it right without much of a complaint of mine, that takes greatness. I'm absolutely certain that I could've never expected something like this from one of the "big banks".

Thank you very much bunq & all the team! ❀

You guys can be assured that I will enjoy the chocolate greatly (although it's almost a shame to break such a beautiful, colourful packaging ;) )

Best wishes from the north of the Netherlands,

          Calvin (a happy customer) 🌈

P.S.: I've never tried "Belgian milk chocolate with caramel and sea salt". There's always a first 😬

          • Nice job, I’d really like to use it but checking out the source code I see no unit tests or integration tests. I kind of feel reluctant giving an app complete access to my finances in form of an api key when that app hasn’t been tested more than just by hand πŸ˜”

            • Sadly, it’s not just contact them and done. Zapier is free to integrate, but you (as in the company wanting the integration) need to build the integration yourself. IFTTT on the other hand costs money. You need to buy a license to be allowed to build an integration for it.

Additionally, Zapier is more business facing and quite limited in the free plan so I think IFTTT might be a better fit for end consumers πŸ€”

                • Did you already update your app? You can only see the new features when you updated :)

                  • One thing that's holding me back is my insurances at ING. I'm not sure what will happen to them if I activate the switch service / cancel my account at ING. Did you have any experiences with that?

                    • I've built a Zapier integration for the company I work for and I'd love to try doing the same for Bunq. The only thing is that Bunq would need to agree to that, since Zapier does not allow to build (public) integrations for software you don't own.

                      • Hello dear bunq team (and fellow users/developers),

there's undeniably a lot of change going on, but one thing I noticed is that the pricing of the api keys has become a little bit unclear at the moment.

I tried to order an API key in the app and was greeted with an "upgrade to premium" popup. So no api keys... Okay. I still checked out the pricing document on the website: https://bunq.com/en/pricing

And found this under the section "Pricing from the 1st of August 2017":

Okay. Seems like all accounts are able to access API keys. I'm on a grandfathered account with the 1 euro bank card though, so what does it say about the old pricing?

This is what I found under "bunq api - Consumers":

(Mind that it's for consumers, I plan to develop something for myself. Further, this is for accounts from before the 1st of august).

So I contacted support and was told that this was a mistake in the docs and that it was going to be fixed ASAP. Okay, I'm glad to help but I wouldn't it be a good idea to at least have a sandbox api key to test your implementation? It seems harsh to pay 8 euro per month if I'm a happy free user, but I want to test implementing an app or so.

I'd love to hear your opinions on it! :)

                        Best wishes,

                        Calvin

                        • Hey Koen,

and what happens when my card is becoming invalid in 4 years? Then I'll still need to upgrade to premium.

I'd like to think of the act of choosing a bank as a long term investment. This makes it an investment for 4 years. After that it's "premium or go somewhere else".

I think it wouldn't hurt to see a smaller package in between, because I also would love to pay 2-5 Euro per month for bunq... (Which is still more than for my ING bank account) But not 8 Euro, because I don't need 2 debit cards and 25 bank accounts.

                          Best wishes,

                          Calvin
