What's a bank statement?
A bank statement is an overview of all of the transactions you've made with your bunq account (IBAN) over a select period of time.
You may need one from the government when tax season rolls around, or even just to have for your own personal administration. You can also use the bank statement as proof of ownership because it'll show your full name and IBAN with the bunq stamp. 📄
This means that if you need a stamped document, you can simply export a bank statement quick & easy, by following the steps below.
How do I export a statement?
Follow the steps below to export a bank statement:
- Go to Home screen
- Select the sub-account you want the statement for
- Tap on More
- Select Export Statement
- Enter the time period you want the statement for and select your preferred format (PDF, CSV or MT940)
- Tap on Export Statement
How do I export a statement for my closed sub-account?
Follow these steps to export a bank statement for your closed sub-account:
- Go to Profile screen
- Click on Settings in top right corner
- Choose Archived Accounts
- Select the account you want the statement for
- Tap on Export Statement
- Enter the time period you want the statement for and select your preferred format (PDF, CSV or MT940)
- Tap on Export Statement
Do you need a different statement?
- You can see here how to download a statement showing your Mastercard number. All you need to do is export a statement for a transaction that you made with your Mastercard. This is useful as proof that you're the owner of a specific Mastercard.

FAQ
Q: I filled in the wrong email address. Can you resend the exports?
A: No, but you can export the statement yourself in the app and change the email address it needs to be sent to next time in the settings of Auto Export.
Q: Can I export a statement for a fully blocked account?
A: No, since this data won’t be available for you. Make sure to contact our support team for further assistance.
Q: I have a sub-account that is closed for over 60 days - can I still export a statement for it?
A: Yes. You should be able to see the sub-account in your archived accounts and export a regular statement. You can follow these easy steps: Go to Profile > Settings > Archived bank accounts > Select a sub-account > Export a statement
Q: In what language can I export my bank statement?
A: A statement can be exported in any of the app supported languages: English, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and French. In order to switch the language of your statement all you need to do is to change the language on your device.
Q: Can I get an export for only one payment?
A: Yes, you can make an export for outgoing transfers, card payments, iDeal/Sofort payments and paid SEPA Direct Debits by following the steps explained here This single transaction statement also includes the transaction ID for SEPA Credit Transactions, Ideal and Sofort payments.
Q: What's the maximum of statements that I can export per month?
A: There's a limit of 100 export statements per month per user.
Q: What does the statement contain?
A: The statement has an overview of the information of the account holder, account details, account’s balance and the bank’s information. The information included on the bank statement can’t be removed or personalized since the process is automatic.
Q: I forgot the password, how do I open the zip file?
A: You can view the password for the file in the email you’ve received from us.
Q: Who is authorized to request a standard bank statement for my Business account?
A: Both accountant agencies and Directors of the company. If the request is submitted by the accountant, you’ll be asked for confirmation that the owner of the business is aware of the charge of €100.00.
Q: My account has been created this year and the fiscal year is not over yet. Can I still receive a bank statement or do I have to wait for the fiscal year to be over?
A: You don’t need to wait, but you have to be aware that the standard bank statement won’t include the complete fiscal year. Also - if another statement is requested at the end of the year, you’ll be charged again.
Q: Is my balance displayed on my standard bank statement?
A: No, your account’s balance isn’t included in your standard bank statement.
Q: What to do if my account has been closed or there is insufficient balance on the account?
