Local Currency / Local IBAN sub-account
As the bank of The Free, we want you to feel secure using your money everywhere you go 🌎 With the features of Local IBANs and Local Currencies, bunqers can easily bank like locals all across Europe. What’s the difference between them you’ll ask?
Local IBANs are operating in Euro based on the local Dutch, German, French, and Spanish banking metrics. Keep in mind that if you reside in Germany, France, Spain or Ireland, your first and any new sub-accounts you create will automatically be assigned an IBAN according to your location unless you specifically open a Local IBAN sub-account.
Local Currencies allow you to spend and save in one of our 16 available currencies. Your IBAN will be a GB one since the foreign currency is held in the UK. This feature is only available for bunqers residing in 🇳🇱 The Netherlands, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇪🇸 Spain, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇫🇷 France, 🇮🇪 Ireland.
