Who can use this feature?

This feature is available for all our bunq Elite users with active Personal accounts. Additionally, Business account users can get different percentages back based on their plan. You can earn Cashback by using any Credit Mastercard, including Virtual credit cards and the Metal Credit Mastercard (physically or by using Apple / Google Pay). Once you start making eligible payments, you’ll automatically earn Cashback!

As a bunq Elite user with a verified Personal account, you can automatically get 2% back for your public transportation spending by using your Mastercard Credit. You’ll also get 1% back on restaurants and bars. So next time you’re taking the train or paying at the bar, use your Credit Mastercard and effortlessly get a percentage back!
As an bunq Free and bunq Core user with verified Business account or Employee Access you can automatically get 0.5% on each purchase you make with your Credit, Virtual Credit Card, or Employee cards. Business Cashback is only available for cards ordered through your Business account.
As an bunq Pro and bunq Elite user with verified Business account or Employee Access you can automatically get 1% on each purchase you make with your Credit, Virtual Credit Card, or Employee cards. Business Cashback is only available for cards ordered through your Business account.

What's a Cashback Partnership?

With bunq’s Cashback Partnership, new bunq users can save money effortlessly when signing up through one of our partners and paying with their newly created physical or virtual Credit Card.

Earn Cashback and discounts on essential services and receive it automatically on your next weekly Payday. Partnership Cashbacks can be combined with regular bunq Cashback for extra savings.

Do I need to enable this feature?

There’s no need to enable this feature. As soon as you start making eligible payments, you'll automatically earn Cashback! If you don't want to receive any Cashback, you can always disable it in your bunq Payday settings. To do so, follow these steps:

Tap on your Profile in the top left corner
Scroll to bunq Payday and tap on it
Disable the bunq Payday toggle
Done ✅

Keep in mind, if you disable bunq Payday you won't receive interest on your savings or Cashback on eligible Credit Mastercard payments.

How much Cashback can I earn together with my friends?

If you share your Cashback perk with a friend, you’ll earn an extra:

0.5% Cashback at restaurants and bars (every time they earn Cashback)
1% Cashback on public transportation (every time they earn Cashback)

Any Cashback that your friends earn will be equally credited to your account.

I haven’t received my Cashback. What should I do?

We’ve listed all the possible reasons you didn’t receive your Cashback here.

Good to know

You can earn up to €500 Cashback per calendar year.
If the payment is refunded, reversed, or if there’s a chargeback, you won’t earn Cashback on that payment.
Cashback earned through Employee Cards is credited to the company's account, not the individual employee's account.
If you’re earning Cashback on a Local Currency account and you close that account before the payout date, your Cashback will get converted to euros and paid out on your billing account.
Users with Employee Access won’t be able to view the Cashback earned, as only the directors of the Business account can see it.
If you're an eligible user but don't have any active Bank Accounts, we won't be able to pay you the Cashback you're entitled to.
