@Jakob-Y Hey Jakob, I mentioned you hoping you might be able to shed some light on this.

From my understanding accepting an incoming Connect sub-account as oneโ€™s 26th sub-account also triggers the +19 euros "Additional 25 IBANs" extra costs.

Do you happen to know the reverse? Imagine the user disconnecting this incoming Connect sub-account, so afterwards the user has only 25 sub-accountsโ€ฆ

How long does it take for the system to pick up on this change and update the โ€œnext invoiceโ€ screen removing the extra charge?

      Hi ๐Ÿ–,
      got confirmation now from bunq support.
      Indeed if you receive a connected account request and you accept, the connected sub account will count against your number of sub accounts.
      If you are for example on an Easy Savings or Easy Bank plan which allow only one sub-account (+ Auto Save), in case you receive a connect request you can only accept it if you change your plan to either Easy Green or Easy Money.
      My previous post assumption were wrong (deleted it to avoid confusion). I asked support to update the FAQ document about connected accounts.

          After an incoming Connect is cancelled/disconnected, making the total number of (linked) subaccounts less or equal than 25, when will the "Next Invoice" screen get updated and the additional (future) charge of 19,00 be removed?

          (Take note that the additional subscription has a begin and end-date that are both in the future.)

              You probably will need help from a bunq support employee who manually "closes the extra subscription" after having validated you have less than 26 sub-account slots filled. (Differently phrased: Less than 26 sub-accounts linked to your account.)

              FYI:

              1. If the "next invoice" says it is going to charge the additional 19,99, you will be billed the additional 19,99. The system doesn't do a re-count before billing. On the billing day, the "next invoice screen" might show nothing for a few hours.
              2. If a bunq employee removes the subscription, and you have too many incoming connects or recently-archived-subaccounts, the charge will come back the next day.

                  Hello @sotirios-Black-Moose#281574, am I understanding correctly from your post here (https://together.bunq.com/d/52009-charge-for-additional-sub-accounts/38) that bunq's business rules have changed and that closed-but-not-yet-archived-sub-accounts now don't count (anymore) towards the 25 IBAN account maximum limit? (Before the extra fee of 19 euros a month kicks in.)

                  If true, would you mind sharing since when this rule was updated? (For example "july 2023".)
                  (There is no counter inside the bunq app yet, so one relies on manual counting the sub-accounts which requires a correct understanding of bunq's current business rules, hence this question.)

                    You've got it right! All archived sub-accounts indeed don't count towards the 25 IBAN maximum limit, before the extra fee of 19 euros a month applies. As for the exact date of this rule change, I currently don't have that information ๐Ÿ™

                      I understand these rules can change. The exclusion of closed-not-yet-archived-subaccounts makes it easier to prevent the (automatic) re-triggering of already re-funded fee and its followed support-requests and it neutralises the need for users with many sub-accounts to infer when or wait for the slot to open up.

                      Would you mind confirming the latest status quo on this topic in general?

                      Can you confirm that the other items do still count for the 25 counter? Or perhaps there some updates here as well:

                      1. all your sub-accounts in your name (that includes savings-accounts and accounts in different currency.)
                      2. all your joint accounts (duh)
                      3. Easy Investment account (pending or active; just to be explicit)
                      4. incoming Connect accounts (it is irrelevant these accounts are not in your name)
                      5. [No longer applicable since august 2023] recently archived/closed sub-accounts in the last 60 days.
                      6. (Your main IBAN account; some have named their first IBAN "Main-account" and it is perceived as something different from the "other sub-accounts". Just to be explicit: This one also counts towards the 25 and in my writing it is just another 'subaccount'.)

                      I am especially interested in 4. (Now "Shared Access.")
                      The feature can be useful, but if the use case is "spending on behalf and order" of the original owner instead of sharing funds between 2(+n) people, then giving up a slot can be "too expensive" for those where this resource is scarce.

                        Hey @sotirios-Black-Moose, a related question:

                        Will closing an Easy Investment subaccount (because a third-party is involved) behave any different in the procedure of closing and subsequent archiving after 60 days?
                        Will it's so-called "slot" become available as any other subaccount immediatly after closing it? (Since the new rules started.)

                        Can a user re-open the Investment account the same way as a regular sub-account within 60 days?

                          The opening and closing of Investment accounts is slightly different than other sub-accounts, as it involves our third-party partner, Birdee. When you open an Easy Investment account, you must be approved by Birdee and make an initial deposit of at least โ‚ฌ50. This takes time to be processed. When you close an Easy Investment account, you must withdraw all of your funds, meaning you're selling part of your investments. To complete the sell order and get your money from the market, it may take up to 7 to 8 business days of processing time and the value of your investment may change. Once the withdrawal is processed and the account fully closed, your so called "slot" will be available. It will not be possible to re-open the Investment account, you must create an entirely new one, as you would have to make an initial deposit again.

                              Hey @sotirios-Black-Moose#282907, asking for confirmation as they are not explicitly mentioned in your list. Do (โ€œincomingโ€) sub-accounts shared with user B (by user A) via Shared Access (previously known as Connect) nowadays still count towards the user Bโ€™s 25 IBAN limit? (Even though the sub account is not in user Bโ€™s name.)
